Let Them!

I was  listening to a video on YouTube by a woman I follow, Mel Robbins. She's very good, she is down to earth, you have to handle some "language" which doesn't bother me.

Anyway, the past couple of years, if I see or hear about someone doing something, going somewhere and I am not included I hear myself say out loud "Let Them" She gave examples of friends going to  lunch, events, vactations and they don't invite you, let them.

As we get older, our kids get older, so do grandkids. Eventually, the visits are further and further apart, until there are so few, you even look forward to a text that might show up.

Once again, Let Them.

People need to do what they do. Let's face it, you most likely have done it yourself and not even realized it. The older I get, the less sensitive I am. Time is precious and who really wants to spend that time being petty.

Speaking of petty, how about the control thing we do. Mel talked about her son going to the prom and how different it was from when her daughters went...along with the fact they had moved to a small town. After hearing them making last minute plans to go to a small taco shop, mel wanted to step in and help out. Good thing for her, one of her daughters told her to let them...just let them do their thing.

In your own family, catch yourself wanting to tell someone how to raise their kids, stop and take a breath. That's their kid, let go of control.

Let go of control, let go of your sensitivity too is what I say! How about you?
Find yourself in these situations? Let them, oh how free you'll be!

Take a look at yourself. What is it in your life you can change, besides being less sensitive, change what you need to in your own life.

Take up a hobby, volunteer! Hey, there are a lot of older people in nursing homes you can visit. Call the schools, the local Y or Rec Center where you can help with the kids. Go to your local shelter or rescue, take care of the cats, walk the dogs.

Seek out people you have things in common with, even if it's just a cup of coffee at your local coffee shop!

How's it going in your life? Do you have situations where you can find yourself saying "Let Them."

Tell us about it in the comments!
